It may sound counterintuitive, but summer in a metropolis is jacket season. We live in a state of aggressive temperature contrast: it’s +90° outside, yet air conditioners in business centers and restaurants are blasting at +64°F.

A jacket is your ultimate impression-management tool. Outside, you can simply drape it elegantly over your shoulders. Upon entering the office, you wear it properly. I always advise my executive clients to keep one perfectly tailored, light-colored jacket in their office. It will instantly pull your look together if you have an impromptu meeting with partners or investors.

3. Summer Tops and Blouses: The Right Way to Bare Your Arms

If you take off your jacket, you are left in a top. And this is where the dress code dictates its strict rules.

Having lived in three vibrant metropolises where the social scene never sleeps, I have explored evening wear from every possible angle. When we hear "Black Tie" or "Evening Dress Code", fashion magazines often paint a very specific, almost cinematic picture: a woman stepping out of a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce, draped in massive sequins or a puffy tulle skirt, heading straight for a red carpet.

But let’s be honest—how does modern evening wear live in our actual reality?

You don't have to be a celebrity attending a charity gala to need the perfect evening dress. Perhaps you are attending a high-stakes corporate holiday party. Maybe you bought tickets for a highly anticipated premiere at the Metropolitan Opera, a ballet performance, or you are attending a beautiful evening wedding as a guest at a downtown hotel.

Very often, especially in cities like New York or Paris, a woman is getting ready for these spectacular events right after a busy day at the office. Sometimes, she is literally stepping out of the subway or a quick taxi in her evening wear. In this fast-paced reality, overly complicated, heavy, or theatrical gowns simply do not work. In minimalist evening wear, the fabric is everything. As a designer, selecting the right silk is the most crucial step.

Silk is notoriously treacherous; a thin, cheap silk will instantly highlight every tiny, imperfect detail on your body. That is why for this capsule, we chose an incredibly dense, premium silk. Furthermore, as a brand, we did not compromise on costs: we made these dresses fully double-layered. Yes, it doubles the production cost. Yes, it requires much more fabric. But a double-layered dense silk acts like armor—it drapes flawlessly over the body, smoothing the silhouette rather than clinging to it. We paired this with a classic bias cut (cut on the diagonal). This technique minimizes the need for extra seams and darts, allowing the fabric to cascade beautifully and move with your natural grace.

The Details: Pearls and Perfect Proportions

When you remove excessive decor, the remaining details must be absolutely impeccable.

For the midi version of this dress, I added delicate pearl straps. This subtle detail makes the dress incredibly versatile. It is the perfect choice for a cocktail event, an evening presentation, or a chic dinner where you want to look elevated but prefer not to wear a floor-length maxi. Walking through the Iris van Herpen exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum this week, I felt a familiar sense of awe. Her creations have long filled the halls of the MET, FIT, and the finest museums in Paris, always standing out as the absolute pinnacle of what fashion can achieve. But seeing this comprehensive retrospective brought me right back to the very moment I first encountered her genius.

It was June 2011. I was a young fashion student at the Istituto Marangoni in Paris, just diving deep into the global industry after my first experiences at Ukrainian Fashion Week. Through a stroke of luck and sheer determination, I managed to get into the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week shows.

I walked into Iris van Herpen’s show not even knowing what to expect. What I saw completely shattered my understanding of clothing.

Fourteen years ago, long before 3D printing became a buzzword, she sent models down the runway in what can only be described as cosmic, extraterrestrial architecture. There were these incredible, intricate structures that looked like human skeletons, and dark, flowing forms resembling otherworldly amphibians. It wasn't just fabric; it was biology, technology, and pure art fused together.

For me, from that day on, her fashion house became a symbol of something truly cosmic. She essentially invented Tech-Couture—a space where biomimicry meets haute couture.

But as I stood in the Brooklyn Museum looking at her life's work, my fascination wasn't just about the groundbreaking 3D technology or the sheer visual impact of these art objects. I was looking at a creator who is entirely connected to the Source.

When you look at her dresses, you don't just see fashion; you witness a human being flawlessly executing her life's mission. She is channeling something far greater than herself. That is the true definition of an artist.

I don’t try to replicate her cosmic 3D structures or compete in the realm of avant-garde technology. My path is different. But her unwavering dedication to treating fashion as pure art deeply inspires my own concept of Wearable Art.

While Iris sculpts the future out of polymers and lasers for the museum halls, my mission is to bring art into the everyday life of a modern woman. But as a company executive who interacts with a team and manages processes every day, I know for a fact: there is already too much masculine energy, rigidity, and hustle culture in business. In all this chaos, it is so vital to remain a Woman.

Someone might think: "Sure, it’s easy to wear dresses if you’re just a beautiful muse slowly strolling through art galleries." But my reality is entirely different. I am a mother of three. My morning means packing lunchboxes, getting everyone off to school, handling a million household chores, and running errands through the streets of New York. My life is pure, nonstop momentum.

And that is exactly why my rule of exclusively wearing dresses is not about overdressing. It is not about putting on uncomfortable heels first thing in the morning and suffering for the sake of beauty. On the contrary, my personal need for balance drove me to spend years searching for and perfecting the ideal silhouette—the from day to evening dress. A dress that allows you to be a mom and fly through the city, yet gently disciplines you. It grounds you, stops you from running at a masculine pace, and returns you to your true nature.

For me, it became a matter of making conscious choices in the smallest details.

We make little choices every day.

What does it cost me to start my morning not by mindlessly scrolling through a feed, but with breathing exercises and yoga?

What does my conscious choice in food give me—having chosen vegetarianism and living foods for many years, rejecting the heavy energy that depletes the body?

Years later, I can confidently say: it is these daily decisions that build a massive energy of Creation, rather than destruction, in our lives.

A dress works the exact same way. It is such a tiny detail in the morning—to skip the comfortable pants and choose femininity instead. But as I always say:

the small daily habit of choosing a dress pays off with immense feminine happiness.

You cannot even imagine the powerful, compounding effect this has on your entire life. How it imperceptibly changes your posture, your inner state, your walk, and how the world reads you.

My personal challenge is to live exclusively in dresses 365 days a year. I turn my canvas paintings into Wearable Art to pass this energy on to other women.
